I had the pleasure of interviewing Jose Espinoza, a Phoenix man who immigrated to the U.S. from the Mexican state of Sinaloa when he was eight. We are visiting Tumacacori National Park in Nogales, a city Jose often stayed as a child when visiting his father, who was working in the United States. Today, Jose’s family is reunited, but he is caught up in an ongoing struggle over immigration–with little end in sight. Jose’s is just one face of millions of immigrants fighting for citizenship and equality across the United States.
Here is my very first podcast I call “Human Rights Update.” I discuss the recent controversial laws in Denmark regarding asylum seekers and an overview of the findings in this year’s Human Rights Watch’s U.S. World Report. Next podcast I will interview a special guest who will share his immigration story!
